The CHILD USA Film Series educates the public on issues of child abuse and neglect. Each event features a film addressing a particular aspect of abuse followed by an in-depth discussion with a panel of experts, advocates, and individuals involved in making the film. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the events are virtual and live-streamed by viewers globally.

‘Sulphur and White’ is a feature film by Julian Jarrold based on the inspiring true story of David Tait, who was sexually abused as a child by multiple individuals. ‘Sulphur and White’ follows his journey through healing, love, and self-discovery in the aftermath of his traumatic childhood.

‘Audrie & Daisy’ Panel: Sexual Assault, Child Pornography, Victim-Blaming, & Mental Health
June 16, 2021 6:30pm EST – 8:00pm EST
The second event of the 2021 Film Series featured ‘Audrie & Daisy.’ This documentary follows the stories of two young girls who were sexually assaulted: Audrie Pott and Daisy Coleman. Their assaults were filmed and spread via social media afterwards, and both girls were bullied and blamed for being sexually assaulted. Tragically, both Audrie & Daisy lost their lives to suicide while coping with this trauma.

‘Silent No More’ Film Screening & Panel

The first event of the 2021 Film Series featured ‘Silent No More,’ a documentary which details the stories of Sarah Klein, a survivor of her childhood gymnastics trainer, the disgraced Dr. Larry Nassar, and Dr. Liz Goldman, a survivor of her middle school teacher. The documentary traces their intertwined journeys of discovery and healing.
