CHILD USA filed this amicus brief in support of Plaintiff-Appellant challenge to the lower court’s ruling that victims of sexual abuse are limited to filing only a single Child Sexual Abuse Act (“CSAA”) claim under New Jersey’s two-year revival window, and that all other common law claims based on sexual abuse are time-barred under the 2019 amendments. CHILD USA argues that the plain language of the statutory amendments, clear legislative intent and significant interest in remedying the injustice of New Jersey’s prior unreasonably short SOL supports the Act’s application to common law tort claims.
